    no one can argue that the economy is not in good health.

    The question the government has to answer is:

    do we do something now to try to cushion the fall and to try to reduce the pains of those who will fall by the wayside,

    or, to wait and do little until when the economy is in pear shape with the ensuing social problems that high unemployment will bring and the loss inevitably to be borne by small businesses in particular.

    The answer is clear that the government has chosen the first route. I applaud the government's decision. It is important for us to know that our government is NOT the only government to have taken this course of action; governments in countries in North American and European Union are doing the same.
