"probably because the federal Labor govt has issued an edict that they no longer regard the services as safe.". ..... so you don't know the actual cause just making an assumption that it was the fed Govt that dun it eh.
and Southern Highlands? wouldn't Canberra be closer than Sydney?
alonso I think you're making an ideological political attack.
ever since Howard developed his plan to subsidise the health insurance companies and enable them to become major companies, boosting the company profits and SP, the public health system has been under attack and drained of resources due to the absurd cost of pumping up these insurance companies.
the lowest point was when Abbott froze GP Medicare payments forcing them to make additional charges to all patients. this discouraged many people from using their GP and so they went to the Emergency Dept as it was free health care. this caused Eds to be over-attended and caused ambulance ramping. Abbott also reduced funding to public hospitals causing staff losses and beds to be withdrawn from use.
private hospitals are run by their own boards and medical professionals. any withdrawal of services is normally associated with the desire of the BOD to cut costs to services that weren't profitable.
to blame this on Albanese is absurd.
