IMO, tax would be the last in the argument for higher immigration
tax for Australia - or funding for Australia could easily come from taxing international corporations and upping royalties greatly -------------
and it would dwarf the extra from income tax.
the reasons for the need for Australia to bring in people atm is the total lack of vision, investment and culture that Australia has had for decades - in a land of such income potential abundance -
in other words - rotten culture, spectacular lack of vision and do nothing
if one looks at many other nations with miniscule populations - one sees true wealth -
educated populations, better services - services which make Australia look like a very bad state used car with the speedo wound back - so far that it's laughable
Look at many of the Nordic nations ----------- and watch the stupidity of the morons when one points out something like Norway and oil -
kinda like Australia and gas or Iron ore ---------- but, the difference - the difference is culture and management
Australia is run on a culture of cut, cut, cut, low tax and low debt if possible
no nation was ever build like that -------------- not one
but, there's plenty of failed states that were though
