    But Eagle, I am for compulsory unionism! Bad unions exist yes, but if there was across the board membership, members may be forced to show some interest in issues that affect their working lives, and a show of solidarity may return to industrial relations. Especially in these hard times, workers are vulnerable. Declining membership only makes union officals less accountable and in a better position to serve self interest. An across the board membership means better quality leadership, more commited to workers rights. A return to the 50s?......who cares? It worked!
