tilerman, funny thing about the promise about computers. I was watching a program recently about a bloke working in Asia to give computers to every kid in the world. He is working towards a $100 computer, presently it costs about $175 and instead of being superceded technology it is leading edge stuff.
He now has kids in Cambodia, living in villages without electricity or water, now taking the computers home after school, still connected to the internet by wireless, the computer screen often providing the only light in the house.
Now wouldn't it be good if all those free computers Aussie kids are going to get would be the $100 ones, because the program that is going to supply them overseas needs to get to a minimum number of orders before they can begin manufacturing, or our needs above that.
