Damn All4One,I agree ,must be a first and have enjoyed the other posts, that also is a first.
I posted this little pearl on the super thread.
Steven Conroy was on sky news saying how he was the opposition minister during this fc credit change. He said the reason labor agreed/supported this change was the he had a letter from costello saying if labor agreed to fc changes costello would tax trusts.
Well costello didn't tax trusts and now conroy is using that broken promise to support shortens position.
So why would labor not just tax trusts?
Average joe in retirement can't afford to lose this fc benefit,they/me have planned their retirement income based on the rules.
As posted on the super thread, this may force some border line smsf's to make new retirement plans and spend their smsf as they become eligible for the 100% taxpayer funded aged pension.A good example being that guy on the 7.30 report ie he may choose to spend 10% of his smsf over next 9 years (being 56 years of age clearly on ttr) then go on the taxpayer funded aged pension.
