I had some cash with Custom Credit earning similar back then, although, I thought that was a couple of years earlier. I wonder why I bought shares at all. In my vague recollection, I had an option to fix at circa 15% for five years, but I purchased a property instead......thinking that was 89 though.
I purchased my first property in 82, and I recollect a fairly high interest rate then, and I had to have 40% of the purchase price in savings. The cost of the property was only $32,000, and I struggled to pay it on pittance income.
