    Ricky Muir was the most reasonable politician in that entire senate intake. I don't agree with everything he says (or possibly even half of what he says), but at least he wasn't a political lifer trying to keep his snout in the trough and pander to his donors.

    I reckon our politicians should be selected like juries... randomly select 500 average joes, explain each issue and get them to vote. Replace every three years with another bunch of random average joes.

    It'd be cheaper and they'd probably do a better job, and generally around 50% of them should be more intelligent than the median... that should put the average IQ about 25 points higher than our parliament at present...
