More great news sure to add uncertainty thanks to Labour! Good to see Peter Garret ignoring the environmental approval the Qld Govt gave to the LNG projects. But I guess he has decided he should make it look like he is actually doing something as Environment Minister, because thus far he has failed miserably.
Instead of delaying projects that will produce 'greener energy' he should be encouraging them. Meanwhile, in Tasmania old growth forests continue to be decimated to produce wood chips, yet we don't see Peter Garret jumping up and down about that. The irony of it all!!!

Federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett has requested more time to weigh the environmental impact of a range of coal seam gas developments, causing more than $35 billion in projects to be delayed, The Australian Financial Review reports.
It is believed Mr Garrett will not announce his decisions on Santos' $16 billion Gladstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) project and BG Group's $20 billion Queensland Curtis LNG development before October 11.
The delay is inconvenient for Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, with hopes pinned on the projects progressing to provide significant jobs growth over the next few years.
According to the newspaper, Mr Garrett is concerned about the long-term impact coal seam gas production will have on artesian water basins in the region and the implications developing this emerging industry may have for the Great Barrier Reef.
The Queensland government has approved environmental impact statements from both Santos and BG Group, however the state's Co-ordinator-General has raised concerns about the impact of long-term extraction processes on the water table and water ways.
