care to nominate the last major infrastructure project any Federal government was involved with?

I can think of two - the reconstruction of the MCG - no hang on Bracks declined that because he objected to the control over the unions on the site. The other was Eastlink - no hang on Bracks declined that because it was supposed to be a freeway.
