Howard rang into the ABC yesterday moments after Garret had spoken, so he's still on his game and up to it. The ABC was somewhat dismissive in reporting the call later in the day - claiming Howard was a tad shrill! He's proved to be correct.
Secondly Garret is now like a cuckold - he has been left out to hang and it's not the first time (coal, paper mill) and we must now wonder if in power he will be left to do his own thing or be constantly over-ruled.
Thirdly Rudd was calling for Turnbull to resign yesterday because of reports that he had proposed an alternative opinion on Kyoto at a cabinet meeting. (Hardly a revelation that differences are aired in cabinet.) Rudd must now expect Garret to resign.
Fourthly -if a new agreement must include the biggest poluters why bother with Kyoto? That would appear to support the Libs stance.
Finally, as pointed out in other posts, it just reinforces what some of us knowe - Rudd stands for power at any price, nothing is sacred. Keep your head down and never make a strong stand in case you scare the horses. Transparent to anyone who wants to look.
