Hey mate, yes I do agree to a point. My central thought was really how there is a cohort of bricklayers that may see it as a ways to get away from the industry and use their skills to pick up a less demanding job; in turn easing the burden of the labour shortage. Immigration has always been a way to get people into less desirable industries in developed economies however (but yes we need to enforce stringent standards of quality). Unfortunately I don’t see the government stepping in to invest directly but the future housing fund is designed to supercharge housing developers which will help. And yes I want less dog and pony shows and more active relationships between the government and FBR! But Ukraine… in five years I could see a fleet of HX being bought directly to rebuild the country.
