We live great in Aus but we also pay a high salary tax, gst 10% on most purchases, more if you drink or smoke. Investments on the money you make after tax are further taxed. We dont have cheap education and our country is doing well but we should be rich very rich but to scared to put up prices on commodities in fear of job losses.

I'm thankful for this country. Im looking at the ocean on my back door while having a beer on the deck I built accompanied with my wife and dog. School i struggled to gain any interest and life looked dull. Got in all sorts of trouble and could of ended up in a much different circumstance. Come an adult found an academic profession of interest sacrificed money and time to improve myself and am now considered an academic professional doing well for myself.

What I will say is through all that 2 things. I have no fkn idea where our tax goes so much of it we could do so much better and at the same time this once lost young adult was given a later in life oppurtunity that anyone can find if they search hard enough and are willing to make sacrifices to better their lives.

Australia is great but it could be so much better. Im thankful for what I have.
