re: labour left slams expansion of uranium mining As SiameseParrot pointed out - the heading should be Labour LEFT. It's the left wing of the Labour party, not the ALP.

And of course they would oppose uranium mining - they are aligned with the greenies and conservationists. They think in their naive way, that windmills and solar panels are going to power cities and industrial complexes. Hah! No chance.

Nuclear energy is the way the world HAS to go - no choice. And there are already over 440 nuclear power plants in operation, with another 30 or 40 in progress (mainly China and India). They have to get their uranium from somewhere, and it may as well be here. Why let another country get rich while we languish in the steam and coal era?

All the hysteria over Chernobyl is bound to be recycled now, as the 20-year anniversary was yesterday. But Chernobykl was old technology even when it was built, it was built with numerous shortcuts to keep the price down, and it wasn't maintained. And it was 20 years ago.

I don't see France (over 80% nuclear power), Scandinavia (also a huge nuclear power generating region) getting too worried.....

And it would be good if you stopped posting the same post under numerous stockcodes too - once would be enough, don't you think?
