Sell side brokers/analysts are really only going to cover you if they think there’s a fee they can pick up at some stage (ie brokering a CR, transaction/M&A, bond issue etc). I’d argue there’s not a lot in it for brokers to publish research on the company unless MLX wants to throw them a bone with regards to a fee. My impression of Brett Smith is he’s not interested in paying the bankers anything.
