Granted. But the horizontal ladders were good, and had been with us for 100 years.
We used them in airleg mining, where the floor was smooth rock, and the lugs of the airleg couldnt get a grip. They were good ladders, and wouldnt hurt you unless you tripped over them. If you DIDNT use them, and the airleg slipped under pressure, you could tear your goolies off with the handle if you were astride.
They were GOOD ladders.
Now, what of that game I played with my kids many moons back....Snakes and (shudder) LADDERS..... Was that game devised to entrap the young into a strange religion?
What about Promotion? Where one climbs the ladder of success..... Is that an evil scheme?
And Jessie mentioned a staircase......isnt that merely an enclosed ladder?
Its all too much....
