That is encouraging. When insurance companies cough up without a fight it really means that the in principle the lessons of SoG are now embedded in the law.
Directors must at all times ensure the release of material information is founded on accurate assessments. The directors, agents for shareholders/investors, must have regard for the how the information will be relied on by investors in future transactions.
I don't think directors can hide behind their disclaimers for making outrageous and erroneous predictions about the company's prospects any longer.
