Oslo, a couple of background facts:
- Nearly all of the radioactivity ends up in one of the 3 residue/waste streams called WLP. It's the other 2 that will become plasterboard and fertiliser. There will be no problem with that at all, assuming the LAMP operates even close to specifications. There's 80% of the residue gone with no concerns IMO.
Might need to be shipped to Thailand or Singapore if Malaysia insists but they import both so it'd be a bit dumb of them.
- There's already a requirement to have both approved plans and a site for a permanent disposal facility before the TOL is converted to a POL. (Within 10 months of the issuing of the TOL.)
The only tricky bit is the WLP and, as VLLRW (very low level) it has relatively modest storage requirements if that's where it ends up.
