All political parties only objective is to get elected.
it doesnt do them any good to support the opposition. They must oppose them at every turn.
Once they get in they then try to get re elected. if they destroy the country by getting elected is irrelevent. Once there in they have achieved there primary aim, anything that follows is just a bonus. its the way of all elected governments the world over.
