Police turn up to rallies and protests all the time.
Saying that they were met with the "full force of the police" sort of implies the police were violent. The police are there to do what they do. If things get violent they deal with it.
They are there to keep the peace not instigate. If it was violent it was instigated by the rag tag bunch of misfit hoi poloi.
What about the rest of the unsubstantiated tripe you posted? The audits, the lost scholarships etc.?
