Chief" provided a link to the Wyoming lease sale website that I have placed below. To find the 46 Goshen county parcels that Samson management stated averaged $2,000 per acre you will need to:
1)click on "search form" at the top of the page 2) click on "state database" 3) select county "Goshen" and 4) click on "submit search" at the bottom of the page.
It appears the higher priced leases are south and and on trend with Samson's acreage in the deeper portion of the basin.
The higher priced leases were in a contiguous area comprised of the following six townships: 21N 63W, 20N 63W, 19N 63W, 21N 64W, 20N 64W and 21N 65W.
Samson acreage begins app. nine miles north of these tracts and is located in Townships 23N 63W, 24N 63W, 25N 64W, 23N 64W and 25N 64W.
The only other Goshen county leases offered in the sale were southeast of Samson's acreage in townships 20N 62W and 19N 62W and in the eastward updip shallower portion of the play and therefore received lower bids ranging from $500 to $1600 per acre.
It appears that although Samson's acreage is north of these tracts that brought the highest prices, all of Samson's 40,800 net acres is on trend in the deeper portion of the basin with these tracts.
