everyone shared the rent when i was younger, i lodged with married young couples and my rent helped theyre mortage to buy a house, often not in theyre preferred area. Single people often had four or five share a house, sometimes more, but i guess in those pre internet days people comunicated better and new how to get on with people in face to face real life situations.And no, it was nothing like what is shown on tv today as real life, seeing how people get on with one another on reality tv would scare most sane people away from communal living of any form, but house sharing gave lessons in life for getting along with people that enabled better interpersonal relationships later in life in work and marriage etc .Team sports also help with life lessons of getting along with people.
