My experience is 16+ years of self managing rentals to people primarily on centrelink benefits - many of which are pretty rough tenants. I do as much of the maintenance myself and have done full house rennovations myself. I have had more than my share of problem tenants but overall have done well out of them and they pay for themselves so the capital increases are pure gravy with a solid income stream.

Many/most that attack investors have zero idea and the envy and bad attitude shines through their posts. Not to mention all the idiotic ideas they come up with won't actually improve things for renters. I almost want them to get their own way so they can see the consequences of their idiocy, but sadly they would just find new reasons to attack evil investors.

Sorry my friend, but you have learned the hard way, as we did in the beginning. Trashed houses, drug addicts, neglected children. This broke my heart and I reported the parents to social services. It is a hard road to be a landlord, not all tinsel and roses as some like to think.
Yeah, so many of these whining Winnies have no idea of what is involved. Basically I feel like giving up, trying to educate many.
