its all of the above......current immigration levels are insane and must be brought back to reality. Current wait on a room in a boarding house in bne is 7-8 months. with costs of holidng the properties rising , so do rents. However kids are a mixed bag , i got 2 , and the 23yo is only about 12-18 months away from having the necessary deposit to buy an apartment in the city. he goes without a lot of what is typical for a 23yo. The 20yo though , no interest in even thinking about it. lives the dream , buys most meals , cpl of $5 coffees a day , goes out living large, travels interstate catching up with mates , does all the concerts , travels overseas , and is about to move overseas just for a lifestyle experiment.......... so you can make it work if you are willing to sacrifice , but multiple things are pushing prices up at present making it hard.
