I have always thought that BCL made geopolitical and pragmatic sense. No one can deny the wrongs of 40 years ago, but they have put so much into the community over decades now. And as frustrating as it was as a holder, very happy now that they stood right back and let the locals come to this decision in their own time and way.
geopolitically..no doubt major players from North Asia will be ballin' hard for this leviathan and would drop 6 billion in an instant given the chance..but with the current sphere-of-influence games being played in the SW Pacific, I don't see a North Asian-run megafacility that effectively bankrolls the ABG being palatable to the powers that be in Oceania/USA.
All my opinion, but my money is on BCL being part of the process going forward.
