The Land Owner issues at Mt Kare were always the SINGLE indicator of whether the project would go ahead or not.
It doesn't matter how many oz of gold you have in the ground in PNG ……………..
Credit where credit is due, from the outset IDC’s community engagement plan was based on human logic, analysis and a carefully scoped understanding of the history of historical events at Kare showing due respect to all stake holders.
It was an unconventional, smart, proactive, logical position to take.
A huge amount of preparatory work was done with the land owners of Kare over 2010 preparing Land Owners for a change of ownership of the Kare project.
The fruits of these labors are now manifesting for both the proponent and the land owners.
From this point onward all outcomes for IDC will be positive if not utterly thrilling when the team finds the bonanza grade targets.
The challenge and reward now is for IDC to find the bonanza grades, increase the reserves and resources, and get the IRR up and the CapEx down.
All very do-able with the team IDC has now put together.
