That's the heading in today's Weste Australian by Paul Murray
A few quotes:
"How it managed to achieve the biggest Parliamentary majority in our history from the lowest primary vote ever to return to government is a perversion of our preferential voting system. It has to be made optional to be fair."
"The bungled release last week of a new Treasury briefing note ----------------exposed that the pre-election budget was built on lies------and the promise to build 1.2m new homes has already been deemed by Treasury to be unachievable"
"Chalmers is the worst possible Treasurer for the times" "The country will go nowhere while he is driving the bus with a Prime Minister who is happy to be a passenger as long as he can enjoy the view from the front seats" ---------------------------------- Murray goes on the predict that the Albanese government will have no option but to raise taxes and/or invent new ones, such as the unearned capital gains tax.
Murray quite correctly lambasts the incompetence of Chalmers and the government through its fiscal ineptitude and overspending pointing out that the last time Labor was able to bring about real economic progress was 40 years ago when Bob Hawke formed a compact with (Communist) union leader Bill Kelty that set the nation forward for 2 decades.
Australia is stuffed under Albanese's incompetence so we ca all expect taxation increases along the lines of death duties and/or family homes being taxed in some form.
Added to the obvious incompetence of this Labor government is the massive predicted cost blow out of the NDIS and even more so for the continued taxpayer subsidised, long term disaster, the inefficient renewable roll out with its obvious ecological and economic destruction.
