    Moreld,

Some posters prefer HC to be a BTA fan club for self-indulgence in good news like ostriches. These fans are happy to sing the chorus with Peter Cook crooning the lyrics claiming success for the LANI/DS partnership (which was launched by Peter Molloy long before Peter Cook's arrival).

Thank you for launching this important discussion on LANI trials. You have indeed articulated well the pros and cons for BTA to undertake LANI trials for ROW.
IF BTA had launch trials running simultaneously to the DS trials it would have shaved years in bringing the products to the major market in ROW.
As you have rightly pointed out it is a matter of balancing the trial costs and the risk of failures on one side against the time saved in bring products to market (ie = royalties) on the other.

IMHO, trials should have commenced in the ROW major market instead of waiting for DS to complete the trials. Commencing LANI trials (before completes theirs) was and is always less risk that chasing phase 1 or 2 trials for other new drugs. This inaction indeed is a sad reflection of BTA management.

Instead of understanding the missed opportunity, the chorus is happy to sing praises of the DS success in the same manner of praising GSK for the increased Relenza sales without relecting how far in front the competitor (Roche) is despite all the Tamiflu problems.
