Galileo targeting promising nickel prospect at Fraser Range

Galileo Mining Ltd (ASX: GAL) reports that recent aircore drilling at the Lantern Prospect has confirmed a highly prospective intrusive **bronorite rock unit above a previously reported conductor within the world-class Fraser Range nickel belt.


Galileo Managing Director Brad Underwood said the confirmation of prospective rock units will assist targeting efforts for the company’s future programme of work, which includes RC drilling and diamond drill hole testing of the conductive targets, looking for nickel sulphide mineralisation.
The Lantern Prospect is situated in the northern Fraser Range block where Galileo has a significant 500 sq. km ground holding. The company’s tenements are surrounded by Independence Group (IGO) and Legend Mining tenure with multiple prospects currently being worked by these companies.
The second drilling programme at Lantern has again confirmed we have the right rock types with the potential to host significant nickel sulphide mineralisation,” Mr Underwood said.
“The intrusive rock unit matches the location of a conductive zone at depth which provides us with an excellent target for drill testing. We also have access to diamond drill hole funding through the state government Exploration Incentive Scheme which allows us to efficiently use shareholder funds in the pursuit of high value discoveries.”
Mr Underwood said the Lantern Prospect is a blind, undercover target and represents a next generation undercover prospect with potential to host mineralisation. Prospects with mineralisation at surface are becoming rare to find and new discoveries are expected to be produced from undercover areas.


That opening paragraph says a lot.



It strikes me that GAL are currently about where LEG were a month ago. They have the right right and one hell of a drill target in place.
