    Gees, we're in a pickle here.

    Anything that stores kinetic energy is in danger of releasing it unexpectedly. But of course the risk of a Tesla battery catching fire pales into significance in the light of oil rig fires in the Gulf of Mexico, for instance.

    Welkin, Batty, Ambrose, albalad, barneyw and more are crying out for the end of fossil fuel production. I agree the dangers there are far greater of fire, combustion, explosion or brown out.

    I object to that though. It will happen, sure. But slow down guys. Yes, capturing energy from fossil fuels is way more dangerous than renewables, but it will take time for the transition. Chill guys.
