You are right fishfarm. Diesel is expensive. And diesel generated electricity is very expensive. They even looked at the coal measures up the cape a bit further to mine and barge in to generate power. Got too hard with groundwater, National parks and native title. Even if diesel doubles it will still be cheaper to put a tonne FOB then any other producer. All other producers still pay diesel to ship tonnes to port. They are using this electricity to load ships at the front door. Fact is CFSM will always be the lowest cost producer. You need not focus on CFSM but see what product you can make. Remember all the exporters are different and their sand suits individual customers needs. A glass maker with access to very high quality limestone can use much lower quality sand.
