larger than usual volume

I am puzzled by the larger then usual volumes going through this share today without the price being trashed. It went ex on the 2nd March and it has sold almost 7.5 million shares today. Is there something up or am I missing something? I hold. I spoke to a broker and all he could suggest was that it may just be trading as people off load post exdividend. Many of the trades are large. Could someone enlighten me please.
