Just read your correction after I pressed post so yeah now we get in to big real world numbers- I don't rely much on inflation etc figures to think what money was worth when we start to go back more than 10-20 years.. it just doesn't hold much meaning.
He mentioned around US $50 a pound being the equiv. of say $200 today?
Ok- here's a challenge for Marty McFly- go back and buy me packs of smokes worth $50 in the early 80's. Marty comes back with 20-30 packs. Ok Marty, let's go see what those 20-30 packs of smokes would have cost us if bought today.
