XGenesis, I was slow to respond because I'm not an expert and don't want to inflame any discussion about takeovers (enough of that on other sites). I looked up the takeover percentages about 12 months ago, so have forgotten most of the detail. However, from memory the key point is whether it is a hostile takeover or "friendly" one. If it is favourable, the Board may recommend it. However, a suitor needs about 90% of the company's shares to force a takeover (hostile). I'm sure others can provide more accurate details.
