it is noted here i think they say there is no preg robbing carbon, which of course makes it not a "true" carlin, but just another epithermal style system with nasty sulphides, especially when u read the anns they specifically say very fine gold in the sulphides - it all points to oxide only.
Yandan - the gold mine west of mackay in QLD was the closest "carlin" style orebody in australia - it only was economic becuase of the oxidation - and i think fair to say Wirrale was also the same.
it is such a pity becuase it really constrains the orebody size, and the transition zone is always problematic in terms of recovery/% or orebody lost and impact on recoveries.
it is clear they need to look along strike at surface material ONLY initially if this conclusion drawn is correct.
Should they drill deep to expand the resource WITHOUT clear results on recovery of this deeper material, i will be gone.
