The NIMBYs in Mudgee need to realise that tourism will not last forever. Their town was barely sustained on agriculture for years. The coal mines are what continue to keep Mudgee afloat and gave people a future there. The Lue action group, is a bunch of retired 60/70+ retired farmers who still live in the olden days of 50 years ago. And lets be clear NO ONE has ever gone to Mudgee for tourism and visited Lue.

But here is ther news flash. Agriculture is dead in Mudgee, the wineries are just tourist sights and the farms have been sold into housing estates in the style of Sydney with massive homes and no backyard. No one protested how these have destroyed the aesthetic and feel of a country town, let alone impacted the environment. No one in Mudgee will even be close to the Mine, let alone be able to see it. The most active members of the Group are from personal experience living in a bygone era and it's time they accept Mudgee needs mining and their little town has already lost its country soul.
