Obviously I'll be speaking to my Optometrist for some advice next time I see him but was I also interested in some real world experiences from people who have actually had it done .

Just check if it is a permanent solution. I am keen to get it done also, but have heard I might have to revisit the Optometrist every few years or so which I am not keen to do.
