    I had it done some years ago, and they should not have operated as my prescription was -7. After a few months it regressed right back to -4, where it settled.
    It causes trauma to the eye including floaters.
    Basically the bottom line is, don't let anyone mess with your eyes. In your old age it could cause problems. Your eye will also change as you age.
    However go ahead if you want, I don't care. I wore glasses all my life. It was pretty uncomfortable when they were made out of glass.
    Not long ago I had cataract operations on both eyes. They inserted synthetic lenses into my eyes.
    IMO that's the way to go, as you can get this soley for vision correction.
    I still wear glasses with variable reading on the bottom and no correction on top for distance. Auto sunglass feature is useful.
