The surgeon who did my operation was wearing glasses. When I saw him again a few years later he was still wearing glasses. I asked him why he wore glasses if the laser was so good...he just smiled.
Bendigo says:- "There are two lenses in the eye
The front surface is the long range lens and is the one which is reshaped with laser surgery."
Sorry to tell you that the eye has only 1 lens. The outer layer is called the cornea, and when it is shaved by the laser it allows the lens to refocuss onto the optic nerves at the back of the retina again.
In Perth there is an optician who specialises in helping people who have had bad laser operations. Often they have to wear a contact lens.
In Russia there are many cases of old people suffering complications from eye surgery. The long term effects are not known. A young person having the operation has a long time before old age sets in. Thats when the troubles begin.
