IMHO I think a lot of the volatility in UNV's share price has to do with funding risk. They were supposed to have finalised the 2nd tranche of funding with Power Origin (our HK cornerstone investor for 19.9% of the company). Currently Power Origin have given them $2mill but where's the remaining $8mill?? Originally that was meant to be done by 31 Aug and then an extension was granted to 30 Sep but there has been no news whatsoever. Until funding we get some positive news on the remaining funding I can't see the SP jumping too high.
If I were to take a more cynical view I might say that our HK friend is taking advantage of rough trading conditions to get more favourable terms for his additional funding i.e. manipulating the SP down to a lower 60 day VWAP
