This chart is misleading. I would like to see this chart over 2 gold bull/bear cycles. Basically it is saying that the "dumb money" has just gone "net short" for the first time in this cycle. When did the "dumb money" first go short in the last cycle?, obviously sometime before 1998 but chart does not show. Seems the dumb money were right as POG continued to go down the whole time until mid way through 2001 when the dumb money seemed to switch to net long. My question is "in the last cycle, for how long was the dumb money net short. ie from when till mid-2001?". And the final question is "If the dumb money has just started to go net short in this cycle, for how many years might they stay net short and how low will POG go during that time?"
