The strategy that is normally used for placement stock is that you sell the equal number of shares that are expected to be replaced by the placement stock once you know that you are going to be allocated them.

That is sell as soon as the initial placement is announced well before you actually recieve them in your account.

That is why you normally have an immediate sell down just after the announcement.

Anyone involved in the placement would have well and truly sold their shares at a higher price by now.
