Riversdale is next door and finding massive coal resources. They also own about the same amount of ground as CVRD. This explains why the stock is on fire and likely to keep going. These are massive coal assets and remind me of the early days of Fortescue. RIV's has secured super coal assets for peanuts and the drilling continues. I would like to think the company is sitting on billions of tonnes of coal and those 4 drilling rigs boring holes in the ground will continue to tell the story. The Mozambican government and Brazilian mining giant Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) have reached a contractual agreement for the Moatize coal project in Mozambique's western Province of Tete ... Mozambique's Deputy Education Minister Luis Covane, who is also the government spokesperson, told reporters in the country's legislative capital of Maputo that Rio Doce Mozambique, a CVRD subsidiary, is expected to sign the agreement soon. "Under the terms of the contract we have just approved, the area granted to this company will be exploited for a period of 25 years, renewable," Agencia Informação Moçambique (AIM) quoted Covane as saying. "The company has guaranteed that the training of technical staff, mobilization of equipment and the construction of infrastructures will be completed in 36 months. That means exploitation of the Moatize coal will begin in 2010". Moatize basin is home to at least 2.4 billion tonnes of coal.
