Carriage building with hard timber and rough roads. Most of the later industry was about assembling which is not value. Australia hasn't lost the ability to value add to components for cars. We have built the industry and still can manufacture parts for the global market. I'm just not sentimental about Holdens I guess. Give me a Kombi anyday, lol, built in SA too!
