    Would it surprise you that most "fat pipes" around the world carry VOIP on the data lines? I believe it to be in excess of 70%.

    Isn't that interesting.

    The fight is for the "last mile" to the consumer.

    Why wouldn't VOIP be used?

    Just a question of grade of service - that's all.

    The gap has closed significantly.

    Telstra will play this game shortly - and try to convince the market that their grade of service is better.

    I'm tipping it will be router driven, where applications can be managed and prioritised according to the devices plugged in (at home).

    This is where CISCO has been for some time - just a matter of price point. CSIRO were first to trial the technology some 5 years ago. 5 years is a long time - the technology is here and working.
