I've often wondered what makes a person who has no shareholding in a company write incessantly about that company and in a negative manner. You cannot read a person's mind but you can tell something about them from their BEHAVIOUR.
How many of you regular posters on HC in the NAG forum, who hold NAG shares, post on forums where you don't hold? I'd only do this if there was something in it for me.
If I was interested in buying shares in a company I might go on to that particular forum and ask some questions of the shareholders if answers were not already on there in previous posts. I might but I don't but I'll allow it's a good reason for a non-holder, who has no sentiment, posting.
As for going onto a forum and telling the shareholders they are a bunch of losers and the company is a dog, I just couldn't be bothered. I don't see it as my job to safeguard the share investments of others. So what is going on in the mind of someone who does that?
Some thoughts. Feel free to add more.
1. Too much time on their hands. Aimless existence. Pathological tendencies.
2. Personal, painful experience with company. Pain. Needs revenge. Out to hurt them back.
3. Secretly, a shareholder and wanting to buy cheaply for as long as possible.
4. Runs, or is closely linked to, the competition to NAG. Wants to make them look bad.
5. Feels undervalued and under appreciated and wants to give impression of REAL knowledge and REAL power. Has very little of either.
6. Delusional. Feels comments will affect the chance of contracts being signed, or not. Believes he/she can influence the behaviour of 850 shareholders.
