The only justification (that I can think of) for making multiple acquisitions now is to spread their risk ahead of the big upgrade to Kwinana. At the moment they are heavily dependant on the Port Hedland and Kwinana site.
Remember they still have an opportunity to increase the throughput of Kwinana by 500%......but to do this now will have significant risks. Failure of the upgrade will result in 50% operational site being down for an untold period of time.
By making acquisitions they broaden their market and revenue base. Should one site go offline then they still have "several" revenue streams coming in.
Another justification could be to ward off predators. Each acquisition they make could make them less attractive for a TKO.
Market depth looking very very scary.
