This does have a bit of stench associated with it. The details of exactly what occurred needs to be known. We hear APA say goodbye and goodluck to Qantas and all the major news sources announce the bid has failed.

Then it surfaces that there has been a late acceptance, and mind you, just enough to get it over the line. And the tone of the media announcements change "Qantas suitors to press ahead". In an Orwellian way, all of the articles saying it has failed are wiped and the new reality is written.

I, personally, would love to know the story behind the story, and I suspect it won't be told by the major news outlets. Does any HC poster have an idea as to the mysterious undercurrents in this episode and who may be making a killing out of this enormous fiasco?
