Manipulation though is usually done in the form of selling to flush out weak hands and help accumulation. If someone wanted to raise the price now it would only be so as they could sell - but buying that many would be counterproductive IMO as you would then have to still sell those as well - and selling that big a chunk (relative to total turnover) would be difficult to still do at a profit.
