I was watching Lateline last night and Greg Combet (Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science and
Minister Assisting the Minister for Climate Change (phew!)) and Greg Hunt (Shadow Minster for Climate Change, Environment and Water) were debating the Opposition's as yet non-policy response to the CPRS/RET legislation. Greg Hunt actually said the Liberal Party wanted to pass the RET ASAP (in a decoupled fashion from the CPRS) in order to move forward with more "solar, geothermal, tidal and wave energy". It was interesting that wave energy was referred to directly in a public debate by the Libs and also that wind energy was not mentioned. I assume maybe this is because wind is now a fully commercialised form of renewable energy. Opinions?
